 Post subject: [English]Teleporter Tutorial

Hey I think that you needed a teleport tut, so here it is:

First make two rooms with lights. Put an info_player_start entity in one:

The first box is where you will start and teleport from.

The second box this is where you will end up.

Now you have two rooms. One is the room that the teleporter will be in,
and the other is the destination.

Use brushes to make a teleporter in the room with the info_player_start.

A standard (maybe under) teleporter.

Now that your visual teleporter is made, on to the teleportation...

First you have to download a expert fgd, such as the one in this link:
http://www.slackiller.com/tommy14/cs_expert-tom793.zip
Just extract the fgd to anywhere then do like you did when you installed hammer

(In hammer, goto Tools -> Options, select the Game Configurations tab , press Add and browse to where you put the fgd file and select it. So simple!)

[Floyd's note: Remove the old fgd you had set-up in Hammer. The expert fgd adds several new entities to CS and HL, and having multiple fgd's can sometimes result in a crapped up entity list in Hammer]

Now create a box brush in the teleporter and then press ctrl+T. Find trigger_teleport in the drop down list, and then under target put in teleport1 and close the window.

Select the entity tool, and find your second room. Select info_teleport_destination and place it (It should be a little bit above the ground). Select Name and name it teleport1 (The same as the trigger_teleports target)

Now you've made a teleporter!!! Now run the map!!!!!!

Well it's not perfect but it's okay. And no its not a leak, just too much light.

Interesting tutorial... too complex for such a simple thing, IMHO. Anyways, that's my opinion.

i just think that everyone should understand my tutorials (because some of my friends isn´t that quick to understand tutorials
so now this is a way to make them understand quicker

... a stupid question... haw do you do the Teleporter?? and.. I have the entiti info_teleport_destination, but the trigger_teleport I didn't find!

It is a Brush entity (= Use the aaa_trigger texture and press the Image button, scroll down, and there it is)

an other question!! does I can make a sound when 1 teleport? in same map (like fun_allinone ) there are sone teleports, and they make sound!

I'm not really sure, But this may work, I don't know for sure. Anyone?

Have the Trigger_Teleport to target a Multi_Manager. The multimanager triggers both the Info_Teleport_Destination and the Ambient_Generic.

If that does'nt work, then you'll have to put another aaa_trigger (trigger_multiple) texture on the other aaa_trigger (trigger_teleport). Now let the Trigger_Multiple trigger the Ambient_Generic

ok.. I make it.. I play it.. but.. If I want to play this map in internet.. I have to use dedicated server.. but in dedicated server it say me that the map there isn't I've seen map cycle and there isn't. how I add my map into dedicated server to play it with friends in internet? may this isn't the best place for ask.. but u fill pro... and I ask to u!

Do this:

go to valve/steam/steamapps/youraccountname/dedicatedserver
then make a folder named "Maps" and put your map in it :D

i installed that fgd but i dont have trigger_teleport but i do have into_teleport_destination.

ive got trigger_changetarget is that the same?
