1. Create a picture with dimensions that are dividable with 16

I have created a simple square sized 128x128 (se below) saved as a bmp file

Image

2) Open wally, and create a new file. You are now given these options.
I want to compile as a wad file for halflife, and the size is 128x128

Image

3) Selecting ok in the colorpanel, I have chosen an all black palette. Your window should look like this

Image

4) Now locate and open your picture in wally

Image

5) Right-click on your picture and select "copy"

Image

6) Go back to your previous black palette and select paste

Image

7) It should look like this

Image

8) Now choose save as, and save in your cstrike folder, or save it somewhere else and move it to your cstrike folder

Image

9) Open Valvehammer, choose option, textures and "add wad" - locate your wadfile and add it

Image

10) create a brush sized 128x128 and apply your texture and it'll look like this

Image

-----------------------

I have also created a little wad file for those who appreciated the help they get from egir.dk

here is a preview (512x512)

Image

and there is the file (107k) - winrar

Thats the long way to do it.

1) Right click at the picture you made and press copy.

2) Open Wally press File>New.

3) Select Half-Life Package [wad3] (.wad)

4) Right click and press Paste As New

5) If you want more pictures, just copy and paste them in. (step 1 + 4)

6) When finish, press Save. Now choose your directory and the name (be sure to call it something uniqe like "WaDssuperduperlovleywadwithallmytexturesandsomecredits.wad")

The sides of the image must be divisable by 16.
Aka, 16,32,64,128,256, and at most 512.

make sure wally is closed before starting halflife, and make sure that credits.wad is in either the cstrike directory or valve directory.
